is a theme park with rides for all ages and attractions. It is only open at weekends out of season so check the website before going to visit. More info.

Elche

is a charming town only 15 minutes away famous for the Europe's biggest palm garden. Best of all is the Safari Park. There are also many shops, bars and restaurants.

La isla de Tabarca

is a small island which is hardly eleven miles from Alicante, but you will discover there a small fishermen village which was walled and still you can find remainings of its ancient walls. There are various beachfront restaurants serving traditional food. Boat trips from Alicante port take about one hour. One of them is Cruceros Kon-Tiki katamaran. They are running on saturdays and sundays in low season (10 Sep to 20 June), return ticket is 16 Euros, going out at 11.10 am coming back at 5 pm. Phone: 98 521 6396.

Cuevas de Canelobre

caves, situated near town of Busot, located at 630m above sea level. The cave is 150m long and 50m high. It contains many dripstones, some of them looking like a candelabra, which gave the cave its name.

Fuentes del Algar

- the waterfalls of Algar - is a natural beauty spot set high in the mountains behind Altea. Walk the paths alongside the beautiful river as it tumbles down the mountain, and swim in its pools and waterfalls. It is accessed from Callosa d'En Sarrià village.

Cactuslandia

is a private botanical garden dedicated to cacti and succulents as well as tropical fruit trees. The garden is situated between Altea and Calpe. More info.
